CRISOL launches a redesigned cured sobrasada terrine with a more responsible eco-pack and a 100% natural formula

Consell, June 2025.
CRISOL unveils the new version of its 150 g cured sobrasada terrine, certified by the Protected Geographical Indication Sobrasada de Mallorca, featuring a dual improvement focused on the product’s formulation and the environmental impact of its packaging — all while maintaining the traditional flavor.
The product is now 100% natural, with no added additives, and remains free from allergens, gluten, and lactose. Thanks to a minimum curing period of over 30 days, it can be stored in a cool, dry place.
The packaging has been redesigned following eco-design principles, achieving a significant reduction in environmental impact:
-
30% less plastic per unit, thanks to a structural redesign.
-
Replacement of the traditional lid with a resealable film, reducing the overall material used.
-
Manufactured with 85% recycled plastic, instead of the previous 100% virgin material.
-
Replacement of the terrine’s body, previously white thermoformed plastic, with a transparent version, improving recyclability and reducing the use of chemicals during production.
These improvements align with the brand’s sustainability and circular economy goals, reinforcing its commitment to more responsible packaging in the sobrasada sector.
“We redesigned this terrine with a clear goal: to reduce its impact without changing its essence. Today we can proudly say it’s better inside and out, with the same great taste,” says Pere Soler, director of CRISOL.
The new terrine is now available at usual points of sale, in both traditional and spicy varieties, and features a new label that highlights its more natural and sustainable positioning.
